White Sands, NM

We have decided that the White Sands National Park is our favorite place to stop on our way back from Texas. Oscar (dog) and Andrew (son) had a fantastic time frolicking, sledding, running, and generally blowing off steam after being stuck in the car for several hours.

If you haven't visited this great park, I would recommend it. The dunes are incredible to look at, and the sand is as soft as can be. It's a great location for pictures, picnics, has plenty of clean public bathrooms, and during the week is nearly deserted. What more could you ask for?

White Sands is also now on our list for a destination in and of itself - with moonlight strolls, hiking, and ranger guided tours, a cute gift shop, and the NASA missile museums nearby, there's plenty to do in the area for at least a couple of days.

Photos, Writing, and Travel

I've been wanting to focus on improving my photography skills, along with writing a lot more than I have been as of late. I want to use blogging for these purposes, but I'm still trying to find my "voice" with it all. Much like me, this blog is still finding its purpose. I've decided the best thing for me to do here is just dive in and get started.

With that in mind, welcome to my first "official" blog posting!

I'm on vacation, so I'll do more of an introduction post later, but for now I'll leave you with a picture I took of my son and one of our dogs in White Sands, New Mexico.

Testing, testing....Is this thing on?

Welcome! I'll make this short and sweet, since I'm really just trying to get set up again with blogging. More to come, one day soon.
